Both were self-sufficient in their help toward Michael, and at least one of them can still be a blackmail target for Anson. One of the most amazing things about Burn Notice is the way Florida seems to be a hotspot for the CIA, various disreputable entities, and other not-so-natural disasters waiting to happen. And even Jesse and Madeline revealed a side of them we haven't seen before. Now employed as a CIA asset, Michael travels to Caracas with Sam and Fi to find the man who burned him. Of course her confession now needs to be "vetted" by the feds – and who would be up to the task? Neither she nor Michael are without "government types" anxious to see them behind bars.

More unsettled than we've ever seen him, Michael became almost an entirely different character: moody, sullen, edgy, uncertain and impulsive. The long awaited season opener, yet again did not fit the mold of our past Burn Notice experiences.
